Patriots coaches have a unique nickname for Trey Flowers

New England Patriots’ defensive end Trey Flowers lets his play do the talking.

That is why he has rightfully earned the nickname ‘The Quiet Storm’ by his coaches, and has been named the top edge defender in the NFL, according to 2018 Pro Football Focus.

The football analysis site currently has Flowers ranked ahead of big-name defenders in the league like JJ Watt (3rd), Khalil Mack (6th) and Von Miller (13th).

"I think you'd be hard-pressed to find somebody who works harder than Trey," said Patriots linebackers coach and current defensive coordinator Brian Flores. "On the field, in the weight room, in the training room, really across the board, this guy works incredibly hard. We call him 'The Quiet Storm.' You don't hear much from him, but he's been a warrior for us and he's played lights out for us, really, since he's gotten here."

Flowers has already racked up 32 total tackles (three for a loss), a forced fumble, 2.5 sacks and two passes deflected.
