Patriots Trounce Jaguars in 50-10 Blowout Win

(Boston.com)

The Patriots kick off the new year with an absolute clowning in a 50-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. A lot of Patriot fans likely had this marked as a get right game after two tough back to back losses to Indy and Buffalo and boy was it one. Mac Jones had a stellar day going 22/30 for 227 and 3 touchdowns on the day, but didn't finish as Brian Hoyer came in to clean up the rest of the fourth quarter.

Rhamondre Stevenson and Damien Harris had a pair of touchdowns each and Stevenson had an additional 106 yards on 18 carries. The next Randy Moss in Kristain Wilkerson came off the practice squad to have 4 grabs and 2 TDs in a breakout game which might mean the end for N'keal Harry who was a healthy scratch today.

The struggling Jaguars fell flat today, with first overall pick Trevor Lawrence going 17/27 for 193 yards with 1 TD and 3 INTs. With the Patriot win and Miami's loss, the Patriots have officially clinched a playoff berth after failing to make it last year. With the one seed looking like it will be out of reach, it looks like the only thing to scoreboard watch for us fans is to see who and when the Pats will play in the wild card round.

The Pats will be heading down to Miami for the regular season finale against a very stout Dolphins team who are currently fighting for their playoff lives so it will certainly be a good challenge for the Pats to close out the season. Happy New Year everyone, your Patriots are officially undefeated in 2022.
