Steve Gregory doesn't practice, Rob Ninkovich and mystery running back do

Not surprisingly, Patriots safety Steve Gregory missed practice today since he has a broken thumb (See: Steve Gregory to miss a few weeks with broken thumb).
Rob Ninkovich however did practice after sustaining some sort of foot injury against the Steelers last weekend. That's good news as the team can't afford many more major injuries to that defense

No word on Austin Collie's knee injury or what is ailing Brandon Bolden. Shane Vereen should be eligible to return against the Panthers though so Bolden will become less involved in that offense.
Also, speaking of running backs, there was a mystery running back on the field at practice. That mystery has seen been revealed.

Woods is a runner who was impressive coming out of Notre Dame and was recently let go by the Texans. The Pats have a good track record of picking up former Texans, as DL Chris Jones (previously a Texan) has been one of the Patriots best rookies this year. We'll see where Cierre Woods lands.
