Logan Mankins on Cary Williams calling Patriots cheaters, "...wasn't the smartest thing in the world"

Offensive guard Logan Mankins is one of the toughest guys on the Patriots team..no, the entire league.

He once held out of training camp and half a season for a new deal, and was able to do so because he had the leverage of living on a completely self sufficient ranch, so he was in no dire need of a check. It was all about the priniciple.

He also once played an entire season with a torn ACL, never talked about it and still made the Pro Bowl.

So, he's not a guy you want to get on the bad side of. Unlucky for Cary Williams.

The Eagles cornerback, and a former Raven, recently made headlines by calling the Patriots cheaters. Obviously, referencing the spygate controversy of 2007.

That's not a topic that pleases Logan Mankins. The guard was asked about Williams' comments yesterday after practice, since the Eagles and Pats will begin joint practices today.

Boston Herald:
“I don’t even know what he was saying,” Mankins said. “I’m sure it wasn’t the smartest thing in the world to say, so I’m not worried about it.”

Was Mankins bothered about the notion the Pats won’t get past being known as cheaters until they win another Super Bowl?

“A lot of the people that say that, aren’t credible people in my opinion,” Mankins said. “Those guys don’t bother me.”

The last time someone asked Mankins if spygate comments got under his skin, he replied, "No, but you are."

This should be an interesting couple of days.
